This is the second conversation I heard about a suspicious cut of meat.... Many fancy, and some not so fancy spots are doing this on a regular basis... Sheri you may have been a victim of FAKE MEAT Filet Mignon is cut from the small end of the tenderloin, So very lean..no fat..the Bacon you find wrapped around it is for fat to cook it in....This looks GREAT...but it's actually meat scraps...held together with MEAT GLUEFilet mignon is the most popular meat glued together by transglutaminase, or "meat glue."Many, many restaurants and food suppliers are doing this now a days....Check out the story here www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/05/meat_glue_can_turn_cheap_beef.htmlAND THAT MY FRIENDS IS why I buy my meat in bulk from the butcher .. I cut my own steaks because I don't want weird stuff in my food AND THAT MY friends is just one more reason I don't eat ANY meat any more ....

Left over red lentil chili with pasta for us last night - hubby loves it and could eat it all day! Hooray - he's the fussiest (almost) vegan ever! Happy not to eat meat but doesn't like chick peas or cooked mushrooms or tofu (although he does like it mixed up to replace ricotta in my lasagna) so maybe I'm starting to win!

The bulk store in in big city I used for years closed and I bought spices there. And other stuff. Now get big jar of cinnamon at Sam's. Black pepper is high at stores. I was about out and got sone at dollar store. looked like white fuzz to me.? Tastes like pepper. I use very little any more. Diet. Vitamin Cottage is high on things and I do not know if Sprouts is cheaper. I got those beans and barley and quino a there. Last quinoa got at Walmart in a jar. Cheaper and organic too. Only place I have found barley. Stores look like rolled oats. And that was hard to find. O like things to ass yo soup.
Do tell about oer there.

We were supposed to have a couple over up north , with my son and his wife. We took two tuna loins out. So then after they were thawed out we found out the couple could not make it. So needless to say we had alot left over. But we froze it after we cooked it. well some of it! The rest we ate last night. 1st time I had tuna not out of a can! Amazing!! Last night I made cheesy potatoes with tuna, Wow I get left over tonight!

Shortening and margarine are soy oil. I use a little butter and cook with canola oil. I use sugar free pancake syrup that does not have aspertame in it. Corn oil I break me out in lumps . Corn syrup diarrhea. Corn did not bother years bacl GMO? Corn meal ok as degermenated. Sweet corn ok as it is not same thing as field corn. Polenta I have not tried as it ie whole corn and would have the oil in it. I just use corn meal. I do not know what I would do if I could not have bread and potatoes.

Yes I use Butter real Butter, I do know Soy is beans also , Soy beans , But I am intolerant to soy for some reason. I don't know if it's one of those things thats cross contaminated with wheat from farm equipment or i'm just intolerant to it period. But It wasn't as bad as it had been so I am confident I am going to get it back. I can try GF soy flour but not sure if I want to do that to my self. Just to see if I react. Lol Last night went to a fancy restaurant with friends, for our birthdays , I got Surf and turf! It was so good! So glad I can eat seafood. Crab legs! Woot! Love it!

Tomorrow we to Vernal so will eat out. Where they will decide tomorrow. Denys last time. probably Golden Corral.
Soy dies get people with celiac. You can get mayo that does not hane soy. I found a oeanut butter that does not have soy . MSG is not good. I been using chicken bullion that has it in mashed potatoes and soupy rice .
Store is suppose to have canned veggies at 12/$6 but most like be out tomorrow . Limted to two cases of 12. U only buy peas and green beans that way.
Trying to think if out or low on anything.

Trying to think if out or low on anything. I should just make my own Mayo! It's hard to find, with out something I cannot have. I have been buying the Olive Oil Mayo because it does't have corn in it. But it has Soy in it. I know how to make my own just have not done it in a while.

Same old stuff. Dug through the fridge freezer. I found the other chicken leg qtr and have it cooking, So chicken , green beans and some fried zucchini for supper.
I have to thaw out another 10# bag of chicken legs and divide up. This last bag they were large. The one today did not want to go in the pan. When thawed it fit in. Where I was cooking two at a time.
I am learning how to use this celabattia bread. It is a tough bun. One of the ladies on bus said to toast it. Food pantry lady said to warm it up. Been doing that. . I cut and buttered and put in fry pan to toast. Loads better. Taste is good.

Do you mean Ciabatta bread? if so, yes it's a tough lil bun...Ciabatta translates into "slipper bread" or little slipper...and it tastes like you are eating a shoe...texture wise anyway ...I have been wanting to make some...I don't have the time...takes a long proof of about 24 hours... they use it a lot now in those fancy smancy Panini press sandwiches...You find it in all shapes now. square..oblong.....but I like the slipper look...

Yeah that kind of bread. Can't even say it let alone spell it. This is flatish squares. If thick enough I can cut in half and split. This is days old bread. Good bread. My mouth can be sore from RA.
You can make meal off beand and bread. I do like a little meat to season the beans. Potatoes or some thing to go with it is better yet.
Old dry bread makes good bread pudding. And stuffing.
