Cushaw!

we have several types, acorn, butternut delicate, but the Star this year is the Cushaw hdsk we planted Cushaw winter squash, a VERY old heirloom, we have several, one, measures over 25 inches from stem to blossom end. I will wait till it stops raining and get an "across the "cup" measurement, it will be over 30 inches I am sure They are going to be so good Our zukes have done well, but have gotten a bit of downy mildew..

Lot's of pholks grow cushaw's down here.....they keep really well and man are they good. We love;em in pies, baked, boiled....you name it. hdsk Good goin Bro.

My sister in West Virginia grows them too and talks about how great they are.

Thanks Cavey, yeah I remember theys be popular down south, make a better pumpkin pie than pumpkin! So we looked yesterday, they been ot there the right amount of time, one had a small cracsk, so we took the bigger ones I was wrong though the measure around the belly was only 27 inches...darn big squash hdsk Thanks for your kind words Pholks wave
