This morning I went to Harbor Freight 3 day sale.I got the Portland electric polesaw/chainsaw tree trimmer for 50 dollars, normally 80,not bad.Great utube reviews.I got there at 845 am,opened at 8 am,they had ONE!
Then I wanted the electric chainsaw, portland 14 inch.It was 49.99,I grabbed a guy, said I thought I saw this on internet for 39.95.So he looks on his computer, nope. Then he digs around online and finds a coupon for 10 dollars off on portland products, takes me to checkout and I got that off too.
Oh,also got a 70 dollar 12 ga 100foot extension cord for 52 dollars. That thing is heavy! Very thick cables.
So YESTERDAY I tore apart my old solar/ inverter system on the back porch that died eons ago.I got the inverter to batteries monster wires, and monster fuse, unhooked and cleaned up.
Today I cleaned up the solar powered battery bank and hooked up the Xantrex Prowatt SW-2000 watt pure sinewave inverter.Makes cleaner power than Edison does.
It will convert my 12 volt battery power to 120 volts for household stuff.Very cool, hit the power button and the LED readout starts at 000,4.8,9.6,12,13.4 volts real fast, display holds at 13.4 (Full charge on 12 volt batteries) and away we go.When you unplug from it,readout is 000.Draws 300 milliamps (mA) on standby, thats nice. I will keep it fully turned off though when not is use.MAJOR league cool!THAT THING IS NICE,they are $410.00 on amazon currently.
So here's the upshot.Monday the power will be off all day,and I have some tree branches that go over the power wires.Im cutting those down with the trimmer when power off.How convenient all the tools were on sale the weekend before a scheduled power outage.Plus I have a dead dogwood,a half dead dogwood and a good one,now I can handle all 3 of those.
FINALLY they are doing a lot of work on the power here, plus the winter outages.....I can run the inverter for shorter outages,if its multi day outage I will fire up the Honda EU-2000 generator. Also at night I will run inverter for lights and computers,no genny nonsense, nice and quiet.Guess Im set!
