Just sitting around the house kinda suks, so The mind has been working overtime... Here's the current situation: We have a pond very close to the house, within walking distance and these frogs keep coming across the road to my property to lay eggs in my water troughs, near my house and sometimes in the rain catch barrels that we have near the gardens... Who am I to disturb mother nature to not neglect these frogs, They sing to me at nite, catch bugs near the garden, and help out around the house everytime they can.. So, I have decided to plan a water park for the frogs, a watergarden so to speak, but with enough hiding places as to let the frogs have a place to call thier own on my property so they will not have to cross the road, and they can stay with me all the time. Does any one else water garden here? As for plants, what should I put around the water park, I want food for the frogs, and I think I can put it enough shade for them to enjoy thier vacations and stays. Any suggestions?

I've seen alot of water Irises around swamps. and streams, cattails work out well, maybe a few lily pads if it's deep enough

Although I have to replenish mine, I had a fish pond full of fish and not long ago a blue heron came through an wiped me out. But although it started out as a fish pond it wasn't long before I had frogs set up housekeeping. The frogs are still there. I have lilly pads planted in containers, swamp iris (blooming now), horsetail, and some other stuff I can't remember the name of right now that I dug up from the woods. I have jack in the pulpits in pots that are blooming now (dug from woods). I suggest checking out a creek bed or swampy area near you and get ideas for your area. I keep thinking one day I'm gonna stumble on a water moccasin out there, but so far I haven't. trudy

Went to the big town... 38 miles away on the other side of the big river.... They had a garden center selling rocks for ten cents each... Man these people are dumb... you can go to any river or creek down here and get all the rocks ya want...
I asked the feller if many people buy them things, He stated " I 'll have to go ask the manager"...... Suprising the people they hire for summer help huh?
Wanna hear something else funny.... There was this guy at Mickey D's that was going around asking for Six dollars cause he was short six dollars for a room... I saw he was scamming everyone so I politly told him NO... so he moved on, While we were eating our sandwich, I noticed this same guy ask and recieve money from a few more people so we alerted the manager this was going on... To no prevail he went to each and everyone that came into the lot...
Well he walked up to this one guy coming out of the store, and asked him I guess the same question.. The guy obviously sad all he had was large bills, and looked thru his wallet and came up with a twenty and showed the other guy.... Well the other feller pulled out a wad of money from his pants pocket and gave the guy change for the twenty... How dumb are people today.. We all laughed from inside the store...
This guy should go get himself some of those ten cents rocks before thier all gone !

I bought 16 pollywogs last week, which will be bullfrogs, and put them in my water tub and the big inverted antenna dish that is filled with water. Some have turned into frogs already. We haven't had frogs around here in years, I look everyday to see how many pollywogs are left.

My Grandmother use to have them up to our knees at the pharm, we would go in the water after them when the pond overflowed

I looked up 'Frog Store' in the yellow pages and did'nt find one. Guess you will have to visit your friendly local frog pond to get some. Talk to them real nice and they might follow you home.
