Can I freeze corn on the cob raw in the freezer in bags er no? just wondering if this would werk? Yep, thats what we use Douglas, freezer bags. we also wrap ears (blanch first) in Press and Seal freezer wrap and then put them in a freezer bag..thats good too!

darn it bro, missed half yer question by hurrying. No, blanch yer corn 3-4 minutes, then cut from cob and place in backs...I suck the air out, but someday I'll die from corn in me wind pipe at least press the air out before ya seal it.

I have heard people say they like it frozen better that way rather than the blanching and all. I have tried it several ways and can't tell the difference. :gdnt:

Well several months anyway. They don't normally last more than about 6 months before all being eaten so caint say beyond that.
We just bung em into the freezer wit some of the green stuff still on and when they are frozen put them loose into a plastic bag to keep them together. Then we just take a couple out the freezer and bung em into that radiation machine that I normally hate, I think it's call micro wave, and blast the hell out of them for a few minutes each and straight to the plate with the old butter pepper salt etc.

I've been doing it that way for a few years now with no problems. I use to blanch but haven't since finding out it wasn't necessary by leaving the husk on. I don't usually use the microwave either, I just cook them in the traditional way on top of the stove. I have just put a bunch in trash bags an into the freezer instead of individual baggies. Big time saver.
Also if you want creamed corn, no need to blanch it either, cream it an bag it up. trudy
