Well, I finally got around to getting some film developed! Here are two pictures of my daughters' three silkie chickens. The hen has been named Dorothy and the two roos are named Rough and Rowdy. We got them the next town over. I was told it was two hens and a roo, got there and guess what! Two roos and a hen! They looked horrible. They were nasty and had poo burns on their feet from standing in their own poo and it staying stuck to the feet. She wanted them anyway. To top it all off, these don't have the top knots I wanted, you know the big poof on their heads. Well, she wanted them. So we got them. They are two years old and wild as all get out. They just won't be tamed down. Rough and Rowdy bite and don't like being held. So, we are hatching out their babies so we will have tame silkies! They are nice eye candy anyway though.

They are pretty. I have Silkies, too. She will probably go broody real quick and then you will have a small flock before you know it. I have thought about doing some of their feathers under glass for jewelry. They have such beautiful, soft feathers.

Thankyou everybody for the replies and nice comments! Laura, one thing about these guys. When I got there to pick them up I was not happy that they didn't have top knots. I have only seen a few pictures of ones without the big ball of fluff crest on top. Thats really what I wanted, but my daughter fell in love with them, and being soft hearted I saw they were in need of medical aid, they looked just pitiful, so I took them. I still want some white ones with the big ball of fluff on their head though. If you go to Feathersite.com and put in silkies you will see various colors and the top knot I am talking about, really does make them a lot cuter! I have hatched out a few babies from these just for fun.
