Hi everyone! We use Daisy May's milk to raise bum calves in the spring so we have a beef every year. I bought 5 this year, but lost one and sold two. Anyway, I have two left, named Lunch and Supper(whom my parent's bought for beef next year). Dinner is the 18 month old from last year and is going to the butcher in a month, so we've started feeding him corn. Last year we were lucky and the steer we raised was pushy enough that I could leave them all in the same pen and he'd get all the corn. Not so this year! Little Lunch is a big pig and shoves his way in to eat the corn. He certainly doesn't need it and I'm not paying to corn feed a steer that won't be butchered for over a year. So I had to pen Dinner separately. This is a big pain for me because I have to hand water the horses now until he is gone since I only have one tank heater. . I HATE hauling water. It was pretty funny to see Lunch(who is half the size of Dinner) shove Dinner over. I should probably invest in another tank heater next year and wire another plug in, because I'm sure Supper won't get his fair share when it's time to feed them both out. By the way, you can see pictures of my critters at www.sherrysapothecary.com/ They are summer pictures, but I hope to get them changed to some recent ones in a few weeks. Sherry

Sherry, I love the names of your calves! I know what you mean about haulin' water! We have no running water in our barn, so we have to haul water for our chickens, geese, & duck. I would like to get some goats, but it's one of the reasons why I haven't gotten any.... Haulin' water for them too. I tried to go to your web site, but both times it said, somethin' like "Page cannot be found"? I'll try again later to see if I can make it go. I'd love to see youe critters!
