Here is a picture of my daughter Shelby and our little man Mazda. Named so becaue I got him on the same day as my husband got his Mazda MX5. I got him at a silent auction back in February at the poultry show I was entered in. Can't remember if I told the tale, but long story short I lost to a punk kid teen, and his dad saw how upset I was to lose the little guy and gave him to me anyway....HA HA! So, he has been worth every penny and then some. He begs at the table at dinner time like a dog would, he gets peices of biscuit, cornbread whatever I may have. Stand there with this look on his face...its so funny. He spends the day out on the screened in porch and when its time to come in I open the door and in he walks straight to the living room, eats his bread with us and then hops up onthe back of the couch to preen Ians hair. After pulling out his hair, lol, affectionately, he settles in and goes to sleep. Sometimes he will get up on me and go to sleep too. He doesnt know he is a chicken I am telling you! I love this little man! We all do, he is so portable too, take him places with us. He loves to be around his humans I tellya. Yes, he is our house chicken. Aint they cute together??

Jeannette, I guess I am a chicken whisperer...lol. I would spend the whole day with them if I could. Dang chores and such gets in the way....lol. Crazy1, he is a Blue Wheaton Sport. He is fully grown! Some may frown on keeping a chicken in the house, but its not really any different than someone keeping a cockateil, or some other parrot in the house. His poo is very small. I usually restrict his food for a couple of hours before he comes into the living room for the night. That way I only end up with a couple of oopsies, and they are just little tiny balls. I just get a paper towel and pick it up, its like it was never there. Not even as bad as picking up a GACK hair ball from the cats, now thats GROSS! To me anyway. He is good about not going ON you...he will squirm to get down if he has to go. You know, I have looked for his breed on the internet, and can't find it. I have seen blue wheatons...even saw one on a Poultry Show on Animal Planet that resembled him, but that one had a black tail, he has a white one, with black. Anyway, I just wanted him because he has so many colors! Tell your wife I said thanks, he is a cutie pie!

you know Kel, i am sure you are right about the chicken whispering.. i'm pretty sure i have a fairly good idea what my pets are thinking.. if i pet, lola funny bunny, the cats come down and get all jealous so, i pet them.. then lola funny bunny gets jealous ;D ;D.. i wish the bunny would let me in on the secret of why bunnys 'clap their hands'.. i put her out in her little pen and bethany said she was so happy she clapped her hands.. i'm like "ah yeah sure she did" well i was out there one day and sure enough she stood on her hind legs and 'clapped'

Jeannette, we have a Flemish Giant Buck Rabbit, and when we got him, I found this site. Gives you an idea of what they are thinking and feeling when they exhibit certain behaviors. Enjoy. www.muridae.com/rabbits/rabbittalk.html

thanks kelly.. while i didn't find anything about clapping, i did find this: The happiest rabbit expression is commonly called a "binky." It's impossible to mistake for anything else, and the first time you see one you will probably wonder if the poor thing is having a convulsion. When a rabbit binkies, it jumps into the air and twists its head and body in opposite directions (sometimes twice) before falling back to the ground. This can be done while standing in one place, or while running, which is really weird looking, and is sometimes called the "happy bunny dance." A rabbit can even turn 180o in midair. All this is a rabbit's way of telling you straight out that it is happy and overall pleased with you and its life. Some rabbits binky a lot and some hardly at all, even if they are being treated well. Everyone has their own temperment.
she does this all the time.. unless it is hot, that's why we started calling her 'lola funny bunny'
