Herb Soaps is somthing ive been wanting to make. the recipes i have are Soft Soap 1-1/2 cups dried herbs 1-1/2 quarts water 2 cups shredded pure soap 1/2 cup borax In enamel saucepan combine herbs and water n bring to boil. Simmer phor bout 30minutes to release the oils. Reheat n slowly add the shredded soap and borax wile stirring. Boil on low phor 3 minutes, then cool, poor soft soap into container. ~ Hard Soap 2 teaspoons dried herbs, or 2 Tablespoons fresh herbs. 1/4 cup water several drops essential oil. 2 cups shredded pure soap. In enamel saucepan combine herbs, water, n oil. and bring to boil. Simmer phor bout 30 minutes, then add shredded soap mixing well. Allow to cool phor 15 minutes, then mix with your hands. divide into 6 parts and roll into a ball. Place soap on wax paper to dry phor several days. ~ Herb oil {essential oil} 1/4 cups dried herbs, or 3 cups fresh herbs, washed n dried. 2 cups olive or vegetable oil. In a enamel or glass pan put in herbs, then cover with oil. Let it set a day or more, then strain away the herbs and repeat the procedure using fresh herbs with the same oil, follow this procedure 5 or more times. Store oil in sealed glass jar and use phor potpourris, candles, and soaps.

now phor the questions What yens think would be good herbs to use? I was thinking Roses cause i have them. could also use Rosemary, Lavender, or Thyme, anything else? can you use milk instead of water?

found some info suite 101 soapmakingSage has mild antiseptic properties, and may soothe irritated skin, skin with small cuts or abrasions, and help treat acne. Chamomile dont use if youe ellergic to pollen. gentle treatment for acne, diaper rash, bruises and skin irritations. Calendula is used to treat eczema, athlete's foot, acne and other skin infections and irritations. Rosemary is phor mildly astringent, and makes a nice bar of soap for people with oily skin. Peppermint phor itchy skin

1:3 ratio of water to fats and a 1:2 ratio if you are using milk. good site-> millersoap.com/

Awesome Wernnie! I put it in my favs! I really want to try the calendula soap. I usally grow a ton but didnt this year cause i dug up that bed phor the daffs n never got around to planting the calendula seeds
