When I moved here 10 years ago I never cared for garlic or onions or tomatoes..nor was I a competitive person. Now I eat garlic cloves raw if I have troubles with a sore throat or feeling poorly. Colds..etc..etc.. As for onions..the only way I eat them raw is with liverwurst..tomatoes..I eat them off the plants.. Garlic the staff of life! I love it,but I also know lots of people that don't. Depending on the verity of garlic that you use and how you cook it will determin on the tast of the dish. Laura if you like raw garlic then try some french white....it is absolutely delicious. Bestofour: Try roasting garlic and then mash it into your potatoes and add some chives.

w8in I hope you and Dave get better soon. The hot tea with honey or syrup and ginger is also great. Ginger will definitely clear your sinus. Garlic has a lot of antibiotic properties Ruth and I eat raw garlic every day. Ruth's sister called this morning and said she woke up with a sore throat and stuffed head, that sure is going around. Well feel better w8in and Dave.

If people will just stay home when they're sick it wouldn't be so bad.

If people will just stay home when they're sick it wouldn't be so bad. YES IF PEOPLE WOULD STAY HOME ALL THE TIME IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER!!!! On the more serious side. I just read in our local paper that over 9.8% of the small business have closed in 2013 here in central NJ That is a lot of business. Sure hope that trend turns around.

Yea I think the problem is that people don't know their sick till it's too late. I mean Dave had a slight cough and a lil congestion but then Boom!! It hit him like a boulder! Come to find out his oldest Brother was sick at Christmas! Are you kidding me? That was crazy of him to go if he was sick! But now I am tight chest and a lil cough and I am not going any where! Because I know how Daves started! This is about dinner lol Dave had Chicken and Cajun rice and some green beans, I havn't ate yet I am having Mashed potatoes Chicken and Collard greens. Yup we cook separate meals. It's all good

Tonight -1° tomorrow 30°H and and Monday 44° then it starts to drop back into the 11° and 3° range with more snow. I'm going out now to clear the snow back for the next storm.I don't know how you all can handle that sort of cold every winter. Well I got to get going.

Then went from there to here. My sister went from Southern Ca. To Texas. She says the same thing. "I don't know how you do it!." But really your body does do some adjusting. We will have 35º weather come middle of next week everyone will be wearing shirt sleeves. But in the fall and it is 35º it seems cold and everyone is bundled upin winter jackets, funny but your body does do some adjusting. I should NOT have went out yesterday! It was horrid! People thing OMG were getting ten inches of snow and rush out and buy all the bread all the milk and fill up the gas tanks. It was a zoo!! I just said forget it!! I have enuf stuff at home! I helped a couple of people at the store and then left! Heck there wasn't even any carts! It was crazy!!
