yep they are changing the names of the meat cuts we all know and love. reason? its not the name of the cut but the price of the meat. We buy what we can afford. Meat prices would be reduced if they would stop putting the grain in our fuel tanks.CF link

Yeah I read that CF, why screw with it anyway... "loin chop" to "pork porterhouse chop," "top loin chop" to "pork New York chop" and "rib chop" to "pork ribeye chop." PFFFFT

Hi ChileFarmer, they seem to be changing all the names of ours, we use to buy beef/pork, but now it seems we are buying horse meat but labeled as beef or pork Trouble is our meat in the UK, doesn't always come from the UK, it could have been processed in up to five European countries and it's only recently they checked the DNA and found it not to be what it says on the packaging. By the way i like the words below your avatar " In God we trust" just need finishing off with " All others pay cash" M&SFHF

Another reason for the change is boxed meats. Butchers don't know how to do the specialty cut anymore. I worked in a family butcher shop on and off for quite a few years, and there is few things on the market today that are as clean or good as the old days.
