I have a seed pod starting on one of my Plumeria's . I'm so excited ! it's like being a new granny because it takes 9 months for them to develop! As it grows I'm going to document it. this is my first time for these. I was told the first 45 days it grows fast then really slows down, we'll see. I know this may sound silly, But I've become addicted to these plants and am over joyed it has developed this. It usually doesn't happen the first year, Now I just have to pray a bird doesn't knock it off o_0 This is the plumeria seed pod beginning stages just discovered it today, it was not there two days ago. this is the flower it came from

Sheri I have to bring them in,, they go dormant in the winter, and can't take it below 45 degrees kinda like a desert rose pretty much the same care. However the seedpod will continue to grow if I don't disturb it.

That is one pretty plant, wishing I had room for one. Save and plant the seed. I have so many plants that our house looks like a forest in the winter. My largest one is an 8' ficus tree. I need to sell that one. CF

thanks W8in,, Chile farmer these seed pods take about 9 months to develop if all goes well, and each pod can have up to double digit seeds in them if not more ,,, once planted it could take 1 year or 5 years to flower, it's what makes this plant so exciting to have.

I still have hope!! Altho I have it in a s. window just like my friend. I think I made a big nono I was worried it didn't have enuf dirt , and I wanted to repot it. An online friend said "don't do it!! If you feel the need just add dirt" Well I added dirt and I really shouldn't have. Thats my theory anyway! It is a crazy plant!! But yea has never bloomed!! I have watched them bloom, sadly not mine

ohhhhhhh a night blooming epi! they like orchid bark I plant mine in 1/3 mushroom compost /1/3 perlite, and 1/3 orchid bark. I've repotted mine many times,, the last time I repotted it , she bloomed , I keep mine outside in spring and summer hung in a tree in dappled sun, and in an east window during the winter. IN the spring I place some composted leaves on the top and kinda stir them in the top couple of inches of the soil, they like the composted leaves as it's close to their natural environment as well as the mushroom compost. In the spring I also start fertilizing with 6-12-6 and continue that thru August. Hope this spring she brings you blooms

Ya'll are reminding me of a buddy lived a few miles from the pacific. He took out his yard and planted flowers.People walking by would stop and admire. Some tight #$$ had a problem and turned him into city,he fought em and KEPT his awesome yard but they tried every excuse to make him conform, and this wasnt a home assoc place either. They went after his wood chip pile, had to move from side of house to backyard, even made him redesign the cement walkway to his house, wasnt wide enough, crazy!Small town with way too much money to waste in Orange county,Ca.
It was a beautiful yard tho, people would walk by stop and talk, all but one person loved it.Bloomed year round.

hmmmmmmm I don't know I'm usually a stickler about only repotting in the spring, IF you do repot just don't disturb the roots too much.
