Something that I would never do. As for me I bring an animal into my life I am responsible for the life for ever. So only way was that this horse never leaves the property. Which buyer (who was the horses leaser) is totally good with as she wants to stay here.. This though will help me out in that it will be one less horse with vet, farrier and feed bills. Forms just have to be signed and money exchange hands and well I lose a horse. eek.

Awwww, sorry to hear that BD, but it sounds like you'll still see the horse if she's leaving it with you to board.
And who knows, maybe someday down the road if finances are different, you can get that horse back, just tell the new owner that if they ever decide to sell, please contact you first.

The wrong thing is to abandon them. Im sorry you had to do that to someone you love. But you are doing the right thing for the horse.Thats what matters...but your pain,Im sorry for that. Big hug for you

Really this is a good thing as in my contract it is stated if she changes her mind about keeping horse on this property the horse will remain here. So really it will be the same but someone else will be paying for the upkeep. Plus paying me board... I like this girl too as she will come almost every day and exercise her play with her whatever. So even though I will sell her she is still in my care. Just not money wise. And I kinda hinted I will still want to ride her sometimes. lol I think otherwise I would never consider selling her. But then I will never lose sight of her so.. All good. It makes sense to do this. Right? lol I also might have a buyer for the two I had to take on if the neighbors sell. They haven't yet so have a leaser on the one who wants her husband to take on the other one. If I have them to buy the two together I would be alright with that. I would have it in the contract too if they ever decide to sell them they need to come back to me. As I did promise the now owners that they would stay together.

It makes perfect sense BigDog!! Good for you and the Horse! The horse has a loving owner , someone to come visit every day and ride and pay it attention (Not that you didn't) And someone eles is paying feed and vet bills, you get $$ you get to see the horse get attention and taken care of. It's a win win!! Good for you!!

Thanks yah I did kind of say I would need to be able to ride her sometime too. LOL So really it does help me out, and I still have my girl with me. I will always be here to watch make sure she is treating her well. Well I do know she will as she is a major animal lover so I feel comfortable with her. Definitely a win win.

The buyer I thought I had for the neighbor horses fell thru. Plus the neighbor pulled a fast one on me and I almost had to pay for feed for them for winter. He was expecting me to take his horses over to my pasture for winter while they are gone south for the winter. (six months) UMM no I said, so now he did buy hay but brought it over to my place so even though I will not have to feed my horses for oh 5 months I will need to use my tractor to feed his.. I have no idea how to get out of this situation. Oh and he says yah I can get their feet done same time as my guys. .Oh thanks. Pulling my hair out on this one.
