Big snake.Looks harmless,is he? Yeah, it's harmless.....sept he'll eat yer eggs........it's a black snake. Looks like some fiddlehead ferns in there too.....great eat'in.

I shot the snake photos with a telephoto lens, I wasn't getting too close. Cavey, I didn't know you could eat those. How do you prepare them?

Don't blame you, I wouldn't be getting too close either!!
We have tons of fiddleheads up here, they grow everywhere!! I've had them in a salad before, to me they tasted like a cross between a green bean and asparagus. I just know that you have to cook them properly or they can cause severe gas pain and diarrhea!!!
