Well, there I was driving down the road....in our neighborhood.....saw a pop-up camper parked in a drive way about 6 blocks from home. Stopped and read the sign. Looked to be in decent shape so called the number...and left a message. DW has been kinda after me since we gave the older pop-up to DD....and I gave away the old 16 ft Shasta to a homeless guy.....so we have been with out a camper for a few years.... She wanted a big self contained....but we would need a place to park it.....so the idea of a pop-up again....that I can roll around in the yard by myself....looked to be a good idea..... Guy called me back and said it was still for sale....so DW and I headed over to take a look... 1996 Dutchman.....looks like 12 ft. box..... Good canvas, new tires last year, 2 way refrigerator 12/115v works (rectifier) furnace works, inside in good shape, screen and zippers great, stove inside out side...table come out (in/out). Hooked it up.....trailer lights work. Gonna scrub it down tomorrow, and then set it up...... Molly checking out her new BOV, guest house, weekend get away....and all around fun trailer. I guess we are back in the camper business......Was meant to be.....LOL

That was a week or so ago....progressing on Camper Project. We did set up the Dutchman Thursday.....going over the systems....as a check and repair. Drain for the sink has a broken out let fitting and crack in hose....had to create an access port....and need a new hose/fitting. Need new style fitting for propane tank and mounting bolts/or rack. Determined that the trailer IS wired to run off a 12 volt feed for the truck.....(refrigerator, on the road)..... Also determined that the connector cord is only a 4 wire so need to come up with a 6 wire version.....add 12v hot and ground. Trucks are wired for that,..... as well as back up lights, (not used) and electric breaks (not use on this trailer)..... So new jumper is in order....and maybe even a long jumper to operate from truck battery....pull truck forward and hook up lights....can run furnace as well. Last Pop-up was set up that way. Everything else seems in great shape.....DW is loading her "gear"....cooking and other "stuff"...don't ask. So maybe a parts run tomorrow and maybe look for an awning. Molly and Bella checking out their new "house"......LOL Up date....sink drain fixed, door latch, wiring waiting on a 6 wire plug, awning ordered and waiting.... Ready to roll as is....and naps well....LOL

Yeah, we have have several over the years....kinda slowed up with the campers when the cabin was built...and the fact that our old "camping group has pretty much disbanded.
We centered around a group of us the worked together at a plant the closed down in 1999. By then several couples had "gone perment" or just parked their units.
Since then several of the guy have passed away....but had kind quit camping for health reasons.
All the while I/We used ours camping with the kids, or on our own...as well a s hunting camps all over.....and a guest house....LOL
Last Pop-up went to our daughter....who moved and took it to Louisiana...then sold it.....Kids.
These dogs haven't had the fun of it yet....Lab is 2 and the Springer is just a year and a half old.
Actually I could sell it and make some money as I got it cheap enough....but adding the awning, will equal that out.
Anyway, a few things going on...then we are gonna head out for a couple week ends or so.
