It's so easy to make, only one set back it stinks when it's brewing!! just harvested broad beans that are much better than last years that didn't have this wonder juice!! PS just used my own compost today (3 barrow loads) that was exciting!! hey ho I love spring!!!

Nettles make excellent compost tea. Nettle juice is really high in nitrogen. I don't see nettles as pesky weeds anymore!!!

Heres one phor cut worms. When your plants come up, put a tooth pick, or another 3 to 4 inch piece oph wood or wire next to the stem. The cut worms need to surround the stem, this keeps them phrom being able to do that.

I till in ground up orange peelings to stop grubs, cut worms, and slugs. Haven't seen any of them in the 4 years I have been gardening here. Just don't add to much because the citrus will kill the good and helpful bugs.

The plants take a long drink of that compost tea. So easy to make. I fill a long boot sock with compost and put it in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. (can you ever have too many of those?)
I let it sit out in the sun for a day or two. Then just pour it over the plants. Refill to or three times. When the tea needs replenishing I take the hose and rrinse out the sock turning it inside out. and refill. Repeat instructions.
it can't be too hard even I can do it. LOLOLOL

Way to go deb. Your compost tea will be even better if you aerate it before you use it. I make mine pretty much the same way, except I add dried molasses and horticultural corn meal to the sock as well. The last batch I added apple cidar vinegar as well. I have been giving each plant one cup full then the remainder goes into the sprayer to spray on each plant. Try to spray both the top and bottom of the leaves, if possible. I have been folair feeding twice a week. As soon as the tea is gone, I make another batch. Compost tea is so easy to make and use.
