Today I took some of my extra open-pollenated heirloom vegetable seedlings in 8 oz. and 16 oz. styrofoam cups in to a nearby town to a space-reserved-in-advance community yard sale. Lots of things and lots of people, and all but two of my seedlings sold out in 2-3 hours that morning. I left before 10:30, but estimate that I probably could have sold 3-5 times as many of the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squashes etc. if I had them there. Still feel like a gardening neophyte, but guess I'm slowly learning--told one customer what basil could be used for, was amazed at the astonishment on customers' faces when I told them not to forget that they could seed save from what the plants produced so they would have their own seed for next year, and warned lots of the purchasers that yes they could transplant into a larger container & keep them indoors at night, or protect them in the ground with an overturned flowerpot with a rock on top, if they were worried about the predicted night lows below 50 degrees the next few days, etc. And I learned that one little old lady had started her green beans indoors, then transplanted them outdoors and now they were over a foot high! This only 13 miles from me. Really busy and crowded sale (my first one), but overall it was fun--and now I have seed money for new stuff next year, so I guess it was worth it for either of those reasons. Yea open pollenated heirlooms!

Wonderful job there... well done, and better yet you should be patted on the back for promoting the hobby of gardening...
