Replace a starter on a F 150 before I pulled the bottom bolt with no problem BUT the top bolt took me most of the day to pull and it was stripped and I couldn't get the 1/2 socket to stay on. I ended up using a pair of channel locks to loosen it and went from there. The starter wire connector was rusted and fell off as well

Must be a newer Ford......I remember when they actually designed a rig to make it easy to work on,,.. But , then again , I 'member when ya didn't have ta hock the farm to get 10 gals. of gas......ssssiiiigggghhhhhhh.... They jus' want ya to buy the "New Mechanic's Four Letter Word Dictionary ! Along wit' special tools......

Just yesterday Marton had to change out the starter in his Jeep. One of his bolts was stripped too. I had to change mine in my 64 comet. That was pretty much cake tho. No 'stuff' in the way.

Brake lines are almost shot as well, hope I can get my hands in their to replace them
