oh yeah, i was looking through some gardening books yesterday and i came across something interesting.. if you don't want to or don't have room for grow lights you can use a cardboard box, cut the front out, leave the top open and line the inside with tinfoil, put in a sunny space, supposedly this will keep your babies from getting leggy.makes sense that it would work.. i'm going to try it.

No T, I don't think it is the same thing we be talkin' bout. Milk thistle, has no smell, or at least I ain't a goin' to get my nose close enough to sniff it! Not sure about other Thistles. You maybe speaking of milk weed? it does smell good and the butterflies Love it. Milk thistle, has very, very sharp spines, both large and small, all over it. It, in my mind, is a beautiful plant, so called for it's dark green foilage, with white 'splashes' all over the leaves, looks like spilled milk. The seds are a very strong liver medicine. Here is a pic, but it's not the best photo.

Milkweeds can be grown from seeds, I think that's the only way. The fluffy seeds make good insulation too, like in a "down" vest or stuffed toy.......sometimes you can find a split-open pod way into the winter with a few seeds left in it.

Milk thistle is one of the herbs that has some pretty good research to back up the claims. I have recommended it to liver patients. Is it a problem as far as spreading and getting out of control? I'd like to get in line for some of those seeds. People have asked me about growing it ,but I've never seen the seeds.
