I had to take that picture the other day, Buster looked so intent on what Ruth was saying to him, actually she was telling him to stay out of the garden, and he does walk around the outside to watch what we are doing. In his day he was one hell of a good bird dog. He would hold a point until the cows came home if he had to, and honor another dogs point the first time out without my properly training him for that. Retrieve in a second. Buster is a natural. He is for me one in a million. One other thing he never barks not that he cant. He just doesn't bark.

Buster is a registered Brittany Ruth and I are the breeders, our Kennel was called Twenty Pines Brittanys. Ruth was breeding Brittany's since 1985 and we stopped in 2003. Ruth has bread many show champions as well as hunters in the master class over the years as well as some dual champions, much of this was done with her previous husband Louie Polise who passed in 1996 from cancer. Ruth and I married in 1998. I love the breed they are very gentle and willing to please, and they wouldn't harm a flee.

Please give Buster alot of petting and loving from me , I miss my dog Nick so much , he passed away a long time ago , but he was a true God sent. Wishing you and Ruth a great day and much success in your garden too.

Beautiful dog you two have. Too cute how Buster is taking in what Ruth is saying. Thanks for sharing. Woudn't mind having a Brittany some day but right now we have 5 Beagles. Our newest addition, Tracker, is about to go to "dog school" in Oct. I was once laughed at for taking a Beagle to obedience classes. Pee on them cause Beagles are smart dogs too. Just look at Uno who won Westminster. Anywho, you got one very pretty dog there. I love all dogs that won't try to kill me.

Shelly: Thank you for your complement, and as far as sending your beagle to obedience class, That is the first thing Ruth has always advised her puppy owners. By the way Ruth showed her dogs at Westminster for 13yrs. I took this picture yesterday Busters Birthday he is twelve years old Ruth gave him a good old smack on the lips

Too cute!!! Buster has a beautiful coat. I can tell he loves his momma. Happy birthday to Buster.
Yep, Tracker and I will be off to dog school. The person that laughed at me before thought I'd ruin the dog; turn her into a sissy and she would not hunt as good. Very "old school" in all the dog needed was to run a rabbit, period.
That's so cool Ruth showed her dogs at Westminster. I always thought that would be fun but very stressful. I thought about doing field trials. Maybe someday.

OK well shelly as we all know well, because a dog is pampered doesn't have anything to do with his or her ability to hunt. That is something that is bred into them. Ruth was a Hunt test judge for the Brittany Hunt trials and she is a professional groomer and handler. And has taken Buster threw hunt test as well, and I have also. Buster is a number one bird dog, and I'm not ashamed to say I pamper the heck out of him. Buster has a great coat we always feed him Holistic food "Blue" and we supplement with fish oil. Ruth is here and wants me to tell this story so here it goes. My husband is one of the most romantic men I have ever known in my life. While I was teaching show handling class for about thirty people at a local park, my now husband decided to show up and stood on the stage that was in the area and propose marriage to me in front of everyone. I was so embarrassed at the time I just turned and ignored him. So he went back to his vehicle and this little girl that was in my class went up to him an asked. Do you think she will say yes? He replied. " I sure hope so". And the rest is history. All of our dogs have had hunt titles as well as show champions, Our Sassy Brown had five different titles as well as being a international therapy dog. She was Ruth's dream dog. They all slept with us at one time or another.

Wow, that was a very cool and sweet marriage proposal! Certainly was meant to be. Thanks for sharing that; made me smile and I'm happy for you two.
I 100% agree you can spoil your dog and the bloodline tells how well they'll hunt. We've got the good bloodline from a champion field trialer, Linemaster's One Spot. It's hard when you lose them though. I cried till I got on my husbands nerves. So, I can understand Ruth's and your feelings for your past and present doggies. They're family after all.

Shelly thank you from both me and Ruth. We both wish you much happiness with your beagles, they are a lovely breed. It was my first breed to own and hunt with. I enjoyed listing to the dog run more then anything. Could you post some pics?

Sorry, I can't post pics right now as my digital camera is broken. I hope to get a new one for Christmas if not before. I did "google" Linemaster's One Spot and there are pics of him on some guys web site but not from the owner/breeder of One Spot. Anyway, our dogs look like him basically. We've ran our dogs before and some other folks said "look they have a whole group of One Spot's. They're marked different than typical Beagles. FD. CH. Linemaster's One Spot has an impressive record and produced 4 other FD. CH if not more by now. Spot passed away but Mike Mayle, owner, had his sperm frozen and I can about guess it would cost a pretty penny to breed with him now. Besides Mike will only have Spot's sperm bred with a FD. CH. Bitch from certain bloodlines now. We too love the sound when they hit a rabbit and while they run it. Music to the ears. I'll post pics when I get a camera.

shelly: We are looking forward to seeing some pics of your Beagles, sounds like you have some very good lines. Funny you mentioned frozen sperm of a past CH. Buster Brown is the product of 40 yr frozen sperm from the foundation dog of many CH Brittany's of the show champions & also from the lineage of the winning est Brittany in the show ring Geordean's ALL Kiddin'Aside Call name Ollie.
