Are we in for a bit of weather.. ... Winter Storm Warning in effect from noon Tuesday to midnight CST Wednesday night... The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from noon Tuesday to midnight CST Wednesday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect. Snow will begin across areas of south central Minnesota by Tuesday morning. The snow will continue to expand northward into the Twin Cities metropolitan area by noon on Tuesday and across the entire area by mid-afternoon. Accumulations of one to two inches are forecast by 6 PM Tuesday. Winds are expected to slowly increase Tuesday but remain low enough that blowing snow is not anticipated during that time. Snow will increase in intensity Tuesday night and persist through Wednesday morning... primarily across the warning areas. Periods of heavy snow are expected. The heaviest snow is expected south and east of a Fairmont... to Red Wing... to Rice Lake Wisconsin line. In these areas... storm total snowfall amounts of eight inches or more are likely by Wednesday afternoon. Across the remainder of the warning area... five to eight inches are expected. Increasing winds overnight Tuesday night will result in blowing and drifting snow... especially in open areas. Difficult travel is likely throughout the warning time. A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. We are in the Blizzard warning area. It is not showing right now..it is on Phils weather site.. Tuesday A chance of snow in the morning...then snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Highs around 20. East winds 10 mph shifting to the northeast in the afternoon. Tuesday Night Breezy...snow. Patchy blowing and drifting snow. Snow may be heavy at times. Snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches. We went out for a short time this morning in the blowing snow..not to play though..to feed the critters & clean out the corn crib of snow..& clear the doors of snow..all I can say is boy it was brutal..the wind was so strong you couldn't breathe..took the little birds out some more food too..the finches were really hungry..they feed in the newest tray feeder we made last month. It is up by the main windows we look out. I don't think Roy knows what to think about the snow. Maybe tomorrow we will play with him.. The cats stayed in the crib too..Spaz knows not to come out in the snow if he don't have to..

Just heard on the news that we are supposed to get down to 20F 2-nite. Gonna be pretty 2-morrow morning. Think I will stay in and look at some more pennies. I get a $25 box from the bank each week. Trying to get my collection up-to-date.

You've had the worst; wind and snow. Hope you all stay safe. We only have some strong winds, 61 mph, at times with a bit of rain, snow, sleet. They say the temp including wind-chill is to be 0 tomorrow. One shot before going out and one when ya get in...that should help.

It sure was pretty today- Laura, I think we are at the advantage here by being in a valley, we didn't ge such harsh winds. I spent some time out there tending to animals and shoveling- and playing. The chickens weren't pleased, one dog estatic, the other dog crushed, the pigs were indifferent. Unfortunately the snow wasn't very packable so no snowman for Harry . He didn't mind too much though as we were still able to buld a 'snowcano' around him..... Tomorrow is supposed to horribly cold though- around 10 degrees with high winds, wind chill 20-25 below, hazardous conditions- blowing/drifitng snow. I'll be warm and snug playing INSIDE tomorrow.

they closed the state of iowa yesterday, although i bet our local watering hole was open .. we didn't try it. no school again today. now we are begining to dig out. of coarse the biggest drift is in front of the shed we keep the tractor/snow blower in. gonna try to get out and take some picks if its not to cold for the camera

That just goes to show that they will sell anything for a price. I would complain to the place where you bought the cell from. Especially if the instructions say nothing about having to warm up the battery first.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday it was 75 and sunny. I was working in the garden with shorts and a tank top on. Today it is 37, heading for 30, and they are predicting from a trace to 2 inches of snow. Thinking I still live to far north. Last night we received about 2 inches of rain. I have little puddles all over the yard.
