turn out the lights. As most of ya' know business at my store has sucked the past year or two. I've taken a full time job and been doing the store on weekends. Well, this past month the sales weren't enough to even pay the rent much less the electric, phone, insurance, blah, blah, blah. So.... it's time. I'm having a big clearance sale, (need anything?) trying to get rid of as much inventory as I can, and then packing it up. Whatever I have left I'll take to flea markets etc to sell off. I just have to get rid of the overhead associated with the shop. My main problem, WHAT AM I GONNA DO ALL WEEKEND? No seriously, Marton is home on weekends! When we're both home, we trip over each other!! This is gonna take some gettin' used to!!

That's sad Wrennie, but, you're not alone. there's several small shops, stores and restaurants here that have closed or are closing... I went to a antique shop in Kenyon to get Laura some salt and pepper shakers for her birthday, I go there once or twice a year.. Very nice shop, Very, very nice old gentleman runs it.. says he wouldn't be there if he didn't have an apartment above to rent out... He offered to reduce the price, then, went into the backroom and came back with my stuff all gift wrapped... I gave him MORE than he asked for...and told him to "keep the Change" People don't miss whats in their town, area till it's gone.. Support home town business..or as I always say "Shingle our own roofs" But Umm. Wrennie... Marton and You being alone all weekend...R U SURE that's a bad thing?

Wrennie, I am sure sorry to hear about your trouble. I truly wish you the best. Our business is doing OK but do have a hard time getting them to pay. We have more money on the books right now than anytime in our business history. We do 30 day accounts because all our competitor's do. Our town has lost more home town business because of Wal_Mart. We now have only one grocery store left, and one hardware store. I try really hard to buy local and not from China. CF

hThanks everyone. It's ok, tho' really. Just a new chapter starting, ya' know. I was freaked with the thought of closing before I got the bank job. I've always had something 'lined up' if i was leaving somewhere. And I didnt till that came along. So now its all ok. Marton and You being alone all weekend...R U SURE that's a bad thing? Why?? Whatever do you mean?? Actually, he gets up in the AM flips on the tv and stares at it for hours. That drives me absolutely batty!!!! I gotta get up and do. On the comp, at least I'm interacting with the keyboard & people, not just staring at it like a zombie. Then if I want to vaccum, or sew or do something with noise, god forbid! I'm interrupting his show, or nap or whatever.geesh, its gonna be tuff!

So then what you do is buy another TV and send him upstairs.......or ask him if he would like to do the cleaning or whatever, and that usually shuts them up too, and carry on,
