My house was delivered today by the movers...sure was scary to see them standing on the roof, cutting tree limbs down, and lifting up the wires as they went under, but the Lord blessed us, all went well, it is now on the lot, and they are setting it up...busy day.....

How far did they move it? Did you buy the house then have it moved? How long to set up?Do they do plumbing and all or drop it on the foundation, and who built the foundation?
Can I ask costs?
Sure would like all the details if I ever do this the education would be appreciated.

I have a link down in the fix it phorm to the blog....I bought two houses, made an offer on them, they asked $8000 on this on, and $6000 on the other. Both are large wooden houses, good sound structure. I had one moved about 10-12 miles, they had to pull it across a field, so many restrictions, then it sat on the roadway in a bar ditch until they gave permission to move them. Moving them cost more than the houses, but I thought it was a wise investment at this time, and keeps men working in our area, helps all of us.It will have pier and beam foundation, and we will do the rest of the work, the plumbing....have to have an electric pole set yet. The house is beautiful inside, ready to live in....wood burning Buck stoves, I am just in awe of all the wood work in the house.....vaulted ceilings, beautiful ceiling fans...a once in a lifetime find.......the man who wanted them removed is evidentally going into the deer business, having 10ft fences put around 600 acres, wanted these off his property....I am truly blessed.....love this house.....The second house is father down the road than this one...I was also given a barn, and a wooden garage (will be for storage)...have the garage already moved in, and they moved in the roof to the barn today. The second house has a huge deck on it, we have it pulled away already, and it will be brought in pretty soon... thejourneyofthehouses.blogspot.com/I love the inside of this house !

Way to go Grannyg...we need to find us a piece of southern land and a sweet deal like this on housing...there's just the two of Us, so a small place would do...as long as it had two KEY elements..Large Kitchen...and/or a pantry and root cellar
