For all who had not heard I was in the hospital last week. They said it was not a heart attack.Could of fooled me.Anyway They said it was congestive heart failure but milder than last years bout. The good news is I am finally get help to get to the doctor and I have all my meds now. Also hope to be able to get State Disability which would also get me Medicaid. All that while waiting for my Social Security Disability to be decided. In the mean time I am feeling better now and should be ready to garden for 2011. Connected with folks here that finally got me pointed in the right direction.......

Kevin, I have congestive heart failure along with atrial . In hospital a week and had pneumonia with it. First round with it . Doctor told me stay on the meds or I would be back in like that again. I got out of hospital 5 th of Aug, Doctor tells me I can do what ever I want. I have to have blood checked as they say and now up to once a month. Was once a week as I have to take a blood thinner. Meds, diet and excerise. I will be 79 next month.
I have been weak and tired. That is getting better. Doctor said normal for sick as I had been. I also have arthritis. They bottomed out my BP in the hospital. Local hospitel ER sent me by ambulance to a big city one. Had me on heart drip and oxygen . Heart drip the next day flatened my BP and they had a time figuring out what it was. So it took longer to get my heart beat down. I am not disabled just old. Doctor said I could drive no reason I should not. He refused to get me out of jury duty. I had to go in Aug for that. Taking water pills then. He said would not hurt me. I had to go in and group they put me in was ready to go to court room to be picked and she told this group to go home. We all lit out of there. I drive to big city for it.
This week I have been stacking boxes of quilt blocks and material. Only place it bothered me was I felt weak in the knees. I walk every day. I have ot gotten on the tiller to try it. Doctor says that is okay to use and the mower. If I have strength enough to use it. I am not sure he knows what some of us old ladies do. I have my doubts he knows what it takes to handle a big tiller. I am on heart diet.
Take your meds and do what the doctor says.

No worries there on taking my meds. I am in good hands. This year is much better than last for sure.Having your heart doing auditions for the Indy 500 and getting zapped by a defibrillator kinda messes up .summer in 09 was not as good as I wanted .But I think I will be fine as long as I am able to get my meds and see the Doctor.

These prescriptions I take run $4 a 30 pills. I have 5 and the last time I got filled I asked for 90 days. One 90 is only 45 days. Some days 2 of them couple days only one. It did get okayed. It will lower my cost a little do it that way. So much fun, before breakfast after breakfast and evening. After two months and not getting sick on the pills thought okay to get more that way. It sure does mess up doing things for awhile.
Hope you are feeling a lot better.

Thanks guys .As far as meds go at present I am getting them at the local free clinic until my disability is decided. After that I can get all but my Plavix at 4 dollars per month. The plavix is deferent cuz they do not make a generic.Last I checked it cost 152 dollars for one month. There is a program through Bristol Myers that can help with that. And yes I am pheeling better than I had been in a while. I think the Luck O the Irish has been on my side through everything. And the peaces are finally falling into place.

I looked up plavix to see what it is. I take warfarin to prevent blood clots. Every one is different and I am a bleeder. I am on Digoxin and couple Metoprolol Tartrate. Warfarin runs like $ 8 a month. But the lab tests for it add up. But I still have a swollen tummy from it. I guess heart failure swells the tummy or can. Like I told the doctor the black and blue and soreness is gone but still swelled. He never said a word. And trying to stay on the diet. Heart diet and no vit K. Off the water pills.
I was well enough to go on a 3 day trip in Sept. Came home tired.
Kevin, just keep doing what they say and taking meds.
