I have a "95" mercury villager that makes a small clicking noise when it first starts up, and then when it warms up it stops. I change the oil on a regular basis adding treatment as well. It's coming from under the valve cover where the lifters are. A man said the crank shaft is starting to go out while another says the oil pump is going out and still another says oil's not getting to the lifters. What do you think?

Well Doug, without a good diagnosis consisting of an overnight stay at the local garage to determine the true cause, one thing for sure is when the clanking stops, this means oil is lubing the lifters.
You can have your mechanic do an oil pressure test to determine if the pump is going bad. Usually a bad lifter or cam going you hear the noise all the time even when it is properly lubed.
I would get pump pressure checked first then go from there.
