I haven't posted much in a while but thought I'd update what's going on with me. If this is the wrong place by all means correct my mistake. I mentioned roughly 2 years ago that we had a heck of a deal on a house which we lived in for 17 months till last August. Well we were going to escrow this Jan. when I get my Social Security. Around the middle of this year we got a letter from the old lady who sold us the house stating she had medical problems and had to file for bankruptcy and unfortunately she was going to lose her house and in turn us. I won't bore you with all the facts but when we signed the papers(she carried the note) she said she was taking out a loan(turned out it was 93,000) but would pay it off quickly. Now we had to move to the only house available in this town at 700 a month.(the most we ever paid) Like I said, skipping the details now we are in this matchbox at top dollar. And yes we checked with a big time lawyer and nothing to do, no escrow so we have no chance, its all over now but there is a lesson here. Don't ever be fools like us. If faced with a similar situation just say hell no if they want to take a loan. There is lots more to it and I ain't crying (rough on the wife) but be smarter than me. Well thats what's up lately with me.

Thanks Christy, like I said it my own damn fault(reminds me of a song lol) cause it is insane to let peps take loans when they sell you a house but we will be fine. I'm just tired of moving. But better times are coming for us all I hope, we just don't know when lol. Hey I'm enjoying this new look of the phorum. Have a nice nite.

Hey ND, that sucks bro, sorry to hear this, and it is in the right place, and it IS very good tp heed your warning because...this kind of thing can and does happen, Very unfortunate for you and Your wife, your dreams and hopes, not to mention the things you most likely had already done to that place to personalize it-make it your home...very sorry to here this ND.

First off, thanks for the thoughts all. It ain't the end of the world but a big lesson in life. And like you said Phil, we took a couple of extra dogs and aquired more things than we otherwise would of. When the lady said "I will be taking out a loan etc: a bell went off in my head but we wanted a house so bad I ignored it plus we couldn't tell her don't do it but we should of. She is with a man and wife and they are living i8n a motorhome in Vegas waiting for a spaceship to pick em up(their story,not mine)......and it ain't arrived yet.
Now to address you Spuds, first I am just like you. Mayby worse, I don't know diddley but I will tell you the basics. We signed papers, 9 pages selling us the house contingent on escrow this Jan. $80,000 and no interest plus owner financing. Who could resist that. The onething the lawyer told us was that we might of had a chance if we had noterised the papers. Mind you this is a bankrupsy and thats why we had no recourse. So the only advise I can tell you is to get anything notorised. And there is a wealth of general info on the web. But a good lawyer is as good as it gets. You can't get much advise from me cause I'm bout dumb as a rock and I'll admit it lol. Just be careful. As well you are in the same state as me I believe so along with all the crap our state is involved in we do have a lot of resourses for info and help and you should use as much as you can cause we are all paying for it. I'm starting to blather lol. So that is my story and I'm sticking to it lol. Hope all had a happy and safe holiday season and hope things get better for us all. I really like this phamily.

Thanks Cavey, it is but it is a lesson learned. We have decided we are too old to get into any more of those deals and many of you have had far worse problems than us a number of times since I been visiting this site. But we are all resiliant and have the support of all the other members here. I'm mostly over it, lest I run into them "astronauts" then I might have a few choice words but they won't show their faces in this town again lol.
