As I was watering the punkins tonight I noticed that a couple of the vines were broken. It looks like they grow straight up and get to heavy and break. Here is one of the broken vines. Looks like this one had just started to grow, It is broken about 3 inches above the ground.

As I was watering and folair feeding them tonight I noticed there were more broken vines as well. Suspect maybe some critter decided to take a short cut and broke the vines during its passage thru the punkin patch. The vines are about 15 - 20 feet long and no blossoms yet. Gonna have to talk to them and let them know I need at least one punkin this year.

Thanks Phil. I will do that. Tonight when I was watering them it looked like a bear had sat on the vines. It is just one area.

Man I go away for a while, on a business trip, and those punkins take over the compost bin. They have completely covered them. I saw the first blossom today. They are looking real healthy and growing more every day. Keeping my finners crossed that I will get a punkin thios year. Need seeds fore next year.

Decided to take a pic before they completely take over the entire yard. They are just like little kids. Don't mind. I told them to grow south , along the back of the garage, where they will be protected from the hot direct afternoon sun. But they didn't listen. Tricky they are. Got two vines, of the many, growing north. Suspect they are heading north to visit the neighbors. Oh well, as long as they are healthy.
