Day 35 for the 945.5 Sherwood: It's now at an est. wt. of 392 lbs. It averaged an estimated 16.4 lbs/day during the last 5 days. That is a slow down in growth which I expected. The temps. have been significantly cooler during the last 5 days. I'll try and post a pic on day 40.

Here's a pic of my 1029 Golat. It's on a small plant, with a lot of weed competition. It was pollinated on July 26. It has a 90" circumference, so it's probably close to 200 lbs.

945.5 Sherwood- developed a blossom end split that goes right into the cavity. If it does get weighed, it will have a 'damaged' title. I'm still planning on going to Stillwater. I'm not sure if I'll bring the damaged one, just to get a weight, or not. My second biggest was est. around 450 lbs. a few days ago. I'd like to get both of these weighed, but we'll see.

Greg, There's a weighoff in Nekoosa, WI this coming weekend, I think. Is that within driving range for you? Otherwise, the Stillwater, Mn weighoff is on Oct. 8.

The pumpkin on the 945.5 Sherwood ended up weighing 678.5 lbs. It was is classified as damaged, due to the blossom end split. It was weighed at Stillwater. It was voted the best looking giant pumpkin there. For that I won a $50 prize.

Good job Doug. That $50 will buy you seeds for next year. I'm gona try for a 500 pounder next year. Gotta get the seeds in the ground by late February so the punkin will have a good start before the hot summer.
