I planted DC today. So far he's lookin' pretty good! Thank-you Phil and Laura for starting me a punkin! I killed the punkins that I started from the seeds that Ken bought me! They broke from the wind when I was getting them use to the outside.

Very nice pic if you start covering the vine it will start making roots at the leaf joints and you can grow a much bigger pumpkin but as long as the flower bud and runner heads are exposed above the soil from the leaf joints www.pumpkinnook.com/howto/vines.htm#runner

I'll go cover the vines right now Doug! thanks for telling me....I do remember that Phil told me to do this too! Thank-you for reminding me! Oh and thank-you for the great site too! I've book marked it and I'll be going to that site often! Next thing is Pollinating the female flower, and that site tells ya just what to do!

Uh oh! I think D.C. has a bug! I was looking at the vines and I noticed that there were some "holes" in the vine that is growing the best! the "holes" are long in length. I'll try to get a photo later this afternoon whenKen gets up.

Ggggrrrr I can't download the photos for some reason. I think My main computer needs an overhual! Anyway, I think D.C. is putting up a "fight" with whatever it has, cuz D.C. is still growning and I even have a few females on the vines. So we shall see.

Pumpkin plants are fairly strong, they can take a licking, hang in der DC

Well the frost got to the pumpkin vine a few nights ago. But D.C. weighs in at 67 Lbs! It's the first thing I've ever grew to be that big!pictures of D.C. will come late today. Have o go upload them on my photobucket.

Oops sorry folks no pics today of D.C. our computer is acting up so Ken is going to reroute the cords to see if that will help. Pictures will come soon. Darn computer! Yes, we have had frost a few tomes now. Most of our leaves coloring is at it's peak already!
