They will come up. Just gotta give them time. Mine took about 5 days before they popped thru the dirt. They sure are looking good now.

If you haven't planted the seeds yet, do it. My thumbs are not green. I just add alot of compost and folair feed, along with TLC. They will grow. My punkins are about 12 inches tall. Will take pic tomorrow night and post.

Funeral services for mickyG's punkins was held Sunday. Poor little fellers didn't even get a chance to sprout! The little feller "300" was roasted, while in the bag, in the cooler. The bigger feller(forgot his name) had a split in him, thought he was going to sprout, but nope! Big feller was more closely examined and when he was squeezed a bit, "white goo" came out of the split! Poor punkins didn't even get a chance to sprout! So now I'm a punkin killer! We need a "crying smiley" like on yahoo messenger has.

I put my seeds in the ground with out the prep. It took them about 7 days to come up. Check my chronicles to see a pic I took tonight. Don't see how you can kill the punkins. Maybe being in the zip lock bag was to much for them and they got mildew. Never had luck trying to germinate seeds that way. Better luck with planting in soil or 100% compost that is home made. Sorry to hear your punkins died.

Ken surprised me with a packet of giant pumpkin seeds tonight. So here we go again! Seeds are now in their peroxide bath right now. Tomorrow they go into the cooler with da heating pad. Please keep your fingers crossed! I'm scared!

You Go MickyG How long did you soak before? In the cooler, the seed is placed in a paper towel that is wet, but No water can be squeezed from it.then in the baggie. Then the temp in the cooler, no more than 80

Yea MickyG, we never give up. We learn from our mistakes and try again. I have my fingers and toes crossed. I have faith that you can grow a giant punkin. I skiped the first steps and planted the seeds in the ground. The leaves look like elephant ears. They started to grow vines today. In the next few days I will start to cover up the vines with some good composted soil, 50% soil and 50% compost. I bought a half yard to use around the yard. Can't make enough compost fast enough.
