Those are beautiful, Doug. I can't wait 'till next year when I can get an earlier start on mine. Only one of my plants is big, the rest are tiny, some without flower buds yet, some just got them in the past couple of days. Yours are great!

Oh no, my pumpkins are doing great! All on Fred's vine, which is about 15 ft. long, I've got one the size of a small kids size soccer ball, and about 5 that are pollinated but still small. None out ot my Dill's though, for some reason, those plants are stunted a bit. Probably the heat.

I can almost guarantee that if you start watering it up and down the vine every night thats covered it should begin to take off like hot cakes I been doin this for some time now and the secondaries are bigger then the main and still keep spitting out new pumpkins and have to come off because of the one already set I been dead headen them to keep them under control and they sprout more shoots at the secondaries all over again

I'm always afraid to water at night, for fear of mildew. I do, however, water along the vines in the morning and sometimes in the day. I have my vines covered up with dirt, trying to protect them from SVBs. This plant seems to grow at least a half a foot a day! And you can forget about when it rains...WHEW does it grow! I wish the other plants would take off like that. They're still small, I wonder if I'll get anything at all off of them this year.

I hope you didn't get a bug I had to eliminate ONE whole leaf and stem yesterday to get one of those suckers before it reached the vine A half a foot a day is pretty darn good at this time of year Yer right about the mildew thing so I been doin my watering just before the sun goes down to dry off the leaves

Nice pumpkins Doug! It seems like there's always something that nicks up the pumpkins. Usually it's just my own carelessness.

I found some Dills Atlantic giants on eBay but I'm looking for the prize winner kind, these here are only suppose to get around 200-400 pounds so I'm hoping to find some better seed with a range to around 1000 pounds
