I agree that folair feeding twice a week is really paying off. Gotta get the last corner of the garden weeded now. I ran into fire ants while weeding that part. Put down dried molasses and watered it in. Will see if it helped after the rain stops. Hope we don't get all the rain in May and none the rest of the year.

I will do!! There's a sugar cane factory about 30 mins drive from us on the coast, you can buy huge containers full of molasses plant food, bought one yesterday! good timing I think that would be good in your tea recipie!!!! all the best from your friend across the pond! PS whats the full name of the mini pumkins?? (extra treat, thanks)

Sorry I don't know the name. Last year a lady in Finland had asked for some mini punkin seeds so I bought 2 in the grocery store, cut them open, dried the seeds, and sent her some. They only get about 3 - 4 inches (7.62 - 10.16 cm) across. I have not grown any, but think I will try this year.

Really good looking plants! Looks like your season may be a month or so ahead of mine--keep moving seedlings into larger cups & resisting urge to put them in the ground (weather is good five days at a time now, but night temps still not above 50 degrees).
Noticed you had a lot in cages, with wood stick tied to cage to anchor it down. Do you have strong winds too?

Yes we have strong winds at times. There are no trees yet to break the wind. This was a corn field before it was developed. Some more pics. (I love a digital camera. Sure beats waiting for the film to get developed.) Two of the bean plants, The vines have attached to the cage and are growing up the cage. Cucs again. They are starting to grow up the trellis.Only planted the 3 in front of the trellis. The others came up from last year. One of the can'talope. Is it a good idea, or not, to cover the vines with soil, like we do the giant punkins?

Thanks all. If it keeps raining periodically, the garden should do good this year. Gotta weed one more time before putting the newspaper and mulch. Already took out 2.5 wheel barrows of weeds and into the compost bin they went. They make great compost after they have turned into dirt.

Lookin really good Greg, like you're growing lots of the things I'd like to grow if I had the room, but temporary setback. Good luck as the summer moves on. And yes, I too love the digital concept, so much more freedom. I'm new here but mayby one day I'll be posting a photo or two. Happy Gardening all.
