DH has started working on my greenhouse, this is 2 days of work done. sorry they are kinda blurry, my camera doesn't do well with distance shots. I had him put it out near the veggie garden, figured it would be better there. Will post more as the progress goes. trudy

WOW, that looks to be a pretty good green house. You will be growing things in it in no time. Tell DH that he is doing a good job with the green house.

If all goes well I will be starting seeds about the end of Jan. Still lots to do and DH only gets 1 weekend a month off. He did get the last of the windows in an the frame for the roof up. Still gotta get the door made and the cover on. Gotta get the material for the tables. There is a sawmill near here that has a huge scrap pile that I plan on checking out to see if there is anything useable. There usually is, and all they will do with it is burn it anyway. A friend of mine built a barn out of that scrap pile years ago. Figured if its good enough material why not, I like to recycle anyway. trudy

That is so cool.......we have a few sawmills here that give away scraps for firewood..... They put up a couple of slap together buildings in the past. Good luck to you on finding the correct pieces.....

Thanks yawl, been a long time coming. OOB you can come play whenever u get ready. Everything was free except the inside lumber, wire for the tables and screws. Gotta love recycling!!!! I may have $140 in the whole thing, and thats probably an overstatement. T

I am jealous. That looks really nice. Are you going to heat it any?

Peach, so far its staying about 10 degrees above the outside temps. I have a propane tank that we use for cooking outside in there, but I think the regulator is messed up. So for those very few nights it did need heat I put an electric heater in there. It worked pretty good, only have a little leaf burn on some things, but nothing froze. Usually it doesn't stay cold long here anyway, so hopefully I won't need to install a "real" heater. trudy

Believe it or not cooling the greenhouses is tougher than heating them!

XDX has a real good point.
I am in zone 6 so a window vent and maybe a fan would be all that I would need.
But to really use a greenhouse I would need solar to heat.
But I can use one like that to get my plants started .
I use a cold frame now, it works pretty good as long as I do not start too early and get everything to tall before set out time.
The cold frame works great in the fall for winter veggies like lettuce and chives, and cabbage.

I agree with u both, it is much easier to heat than cool. Esp. in our 100 + degree heat. T
