How do you fix these tasties? I love the black morels in spring, soak them in salt water, drain, then dip in egg/milk, roll in flour, and fry in cast iron skillet.........oh....so good too.

Well ya cut em into "steaks" and peel the skin off. Then pan fry or grill em. We use Drakes mix for all of the stuff we bread. So you have a good spot for black Morels huh? I find a few here and there, but mostly the grey and whites. now you got me jonesin for some shrooms. Best get some outta the freezer and rehydrate them........mushroom feast for supper Got that right Bro, the little chickster has a good eye for them shrooms.

Pholks yawl missed supper. X it was BBQ burgers at Tim and Robins with BIG FAT PUFF BALL STEAKS diped in Drakes and fried in butter inna cast iron skillet. (Phil I need a smiley doin the chiken dance) not this one. Weall ate good and Tonya discovered another wonderful gift of mother nature. They grow all around us

We went out to the garden this afternoon to snag the last pumpkin. Well look what I found right next to it. I believe it is a blewit, which is an edible shroom. Waiting on the spore print. It smells like lilac and has a light purple underside.
