My 2 year old friend Olivia spent the night last night and we went out to the garden this morning to play in the dirt. I was sitting by the bee garden and couldn't help noticing all the action. It is basically a five foot square, 2 foot tall raised herb bed. The Oregano, lavender, chives and Marjoram are all blooming and there are at least 4 kinds of bees doing their thing. Without a doubt, they all love the Oregano flowers. From morning to dusk the flowers are covered with bees. If you are looking for the ultimate bee attractor, this is it! IMHO. Here is the bed without the model You can't garden without garden dogs, so here are a couple. Tessa, the spotted psycho dog and her sister Bella focused on a tennis ball Here is Tank the big brother posing in front of the Swiss Chard and Brussels Sprouts. His favorite plants are peas and scarlet runner beans. The only place I can grow peppers well is in the "coffin" It isn't a real one, just shaped like one. The box is about 30" high and the soil warms up early and stays warm. I think that's why the peppers like it. The soil is the same as all my other beds, so I think it is the warmth. The kids love it. They planted most of the flowers standing up! We love Verbena as if it didn't show. They are perfect for the coffin. They drape down the sides and last all summer.

Thanks! All the hard work of double digging my beds and adding lots of good stuff is paying off. In the same big bed as my pumpkins growing on rebar wire I have 2) 9 foot sunflowers. My biggest yet. The stalks are as big as my wrist! One of them has a huge seed head and the head has bent down, but this one is standing tall. Anyone got one taller?

I left out the other Olivia pic I can't leave out our 4th dog Marley. Here is his mug shot. He is the king of bean eating in the garden. He and Tank self-serve on the peas and beans so you have to watch them
