This is my indoor dwarf pomegranate plant "nana" that I grew from seed! It is about a year old and has spent it's entire life inside in a south facing window! It just recently developed a fruit on it, as most of the blossoms kept falling off leaving no fruit in its place. I kept hand pollinating the blossoms - and finally I did something right, as you can see in the second shot...

Thanks ghoststomper!
Yes, well I plan on putting the plant outside in the Spring so the bees can work their magic because it's no fun trying to be a bee, let me tell you! If it was outdoors, it would have tons of fruit on it, instead of just one!
The foliage is very attractive though - however the pics don't really do it justice because they were taken with my web cam. At least I can collect some more seeds from this growing fruit! Thanks for commenting

Alright - here's how my 'nana' dwarf pomegranate currently looks. Just took this pic today. The first fruit has been long since harvested, so I could collect more seeds.
The fruit in this new pic, is the second fruit. Notice there are more orange blossoms, which means more pomegranates!

Thanks Rita!
Yup - I am now a fully certified bumble bee!
Um yes - you are supposed to be able to eat these, I am told. The 1st fruit was kind of tart, but I don't like the 1st fruit or veggie on any plant, so we'll see how the second one tastes...
I have already dried and planted some of the seeds I collected from the first pomegranate, to test for viability. The seeds take a long time to come up - my aunt gave up trying for awhile because she couldn't get one to pop! Just recently though, she finally germinated a seed!
As you can see from the pic, it's well worth the wait!
