Everything just sits there and looks green. I did harvest one precocious broccoli, but that takes 30 seconds. And, it is just plain HOT!!!!!!!!! The beans are vining, the cabbages are little, the corn just sits there, and the veggies-to-be are tiny. And, work is a chore in this heat. How do you folks stay motivated when it is this hot and the garden is doing nothing but grow?

Hey Terri...we have the opposite here...Cabbage is HUGE...will be harvesting the vearly heads today...7 at least...( see our pics HERE ) and our beans AREN'T vining yet...well..A little. we have also peas, brocolli, and cauliflower to harvest today... When things are in limbo and we are not harvesting sumpin...It's me..and my two hoes... with over 7000 square feet...I start at one end...and by the time I get to the other end of the garden...I have..Oh...about 12 hours...before I start all over again... so, I envy You for your small break...remember..all is quiet b4 da storm I always figure a break means yer suppose to be sorting yer canning supplies out

OH! I know what I need to do: I can FERTLIZE! It is a LOVELY time to fertilize, just as the cabbages are starting to head up and the earliest corn is 2' tall! And it might rain today to soak it in! DH left tools out: I bet he gets them before church!

Boring I wish I could say boring, I don't think we have set for more then 15 minutes at a time since Monday. For us it's hoeing weeds spraying for bugs or pickin them off plants, harvesting garlic then sorting and cleaning bulbs checking that everything is getting enough water. Oh spraying for early blight. I'm sure I have left out a few more tasks, but boring it definitely ain't.

I am physically unable to weed OR spray, and that does cut down on the work! LOL! And, I did pick a cherry tomato yesterday but that was the entire harvest.
The weed barrier was a little pricey, but, it is the only way that I can garden. And, blessedly, the bugs have been few.
Today I will make the kids water, as the rain missed us and the plants are starting to look tired. I keep thinking we will have zucchini, but, instead of the tiny zucs getting larger the plants just keep setting more on. We will have several bucketfulls by the time the first one is large enough to eat!!!!!!!!!

Trouble is in my case I'm dealing with more then just a garden. More like 15,000+sf
