I was waitin for my cucumbers to get a little bigger before harvesting, so I'd have a few to share, and this morning when I went out, I found a cloud on each one!! Yep! A white spot that looks like a cloud! What causes that?? Anyway, I picked them all before they could get any further gone. I don't know if they are edible or not. HELP!

Song, was the "cloud" limited to the surface? Or.. was the area under the cloud sunken? Was the "cloud" a whitish/greenish velvety spot if so could be "Scab"
How about the condition of the vines/leaves?

You described it Phil, and some of the leaves have the same whitish patches on them. Scab? what does this mean?

means you have a fungus...but usually only makes fer ugly cukes, it can be controled with most any fungicide, organic or non organic... tends to be more prevalent with poor drainage, or poor air circulation... this wet/humid weather has alot of problems comin with it huh

Thanks! So what's yer organic fungacide suggestion? Vinegar? Would it help if I let it go awhile to dry out?
Should I pull off the infected leaves?
So, I can eat the cukes, as long as I cut out the bad part??

As always Song, yer welcome Yes, vinegar would be a good choice.. 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar with one gallon water If you want a more powerful Organic fix...purchase a copper based fungicide anything you use though, use in the morning before the sun hits your garden.. yes, but I would also spread out the foliage some to allow better air flow..you don't want them to dry out completely...just to where the ground isn't damp on top Personal choice Song...it won't harm you..but I would.. if you have more than you need though, you can pick and choose of course...

Okay, I'll see if I can make a difference. It's not producing much right now, so I'll be eating the ones I picked.
I wonder if a shot of the vinegar would bring my tomato plant back...
I'm on Vacation until next Monday, so maybe I can find the time to take some pictures and remember how to get them on here.
