Well we got the soil test results back the other day and all is OK except for the row that was covered with straw that has some residual herbicide, but very low...almost insignificant. Since the straw has been removed the tomatoes are looking better. I have to re-sample the soil at the end of the season and will not be able to use that one area for replanting next season...not that big a deal since it's two rows that I can do without anyway. I do plan on changing my cover crop to alfalfa, clover and Hairy Vetch. No more Rye and no more imported straw mulch!! Only thing I will say is that all in all Ill be glad to get to another state soon, it always seams to be something around here that someone didn't tell someone or it's swept under the carpet by the agencies that are supposed to be protecting us. Government agencies need to take a good look at themselves and ask this question. ARE WE REALLY DOING OUR JOB?

Gov't employees are lots of times just not concerned with doing a good job. They like the benefits and the pay and the fact that it's a lot harder to get fired. I think it's just sad.
