What all imaginative things do ye worshipful company of farmers do with yer coffee grounds or does anyone have any interestin coffee gossip or info? (Besides reusing to make weak but cheap coffee) hehe. BTW, we're gittin ar still set up.

I use them to compost but years ago, we used to sell worms. We used coffee grounds, corn meal, and an old bottle of vitamins my aunt had sent for us to take ,on them, and they were doing great. Times were hard. Mom made homemade bread, sold chicken eggs, and I sold the worms. Folks would line the driveway waiting to buy them to fish with. We sold them as Vita-fed worms. I laugh when I think about how we managed to save our property. One man told me the worms were so strong that his wife's stocking fell down while they were fishing, and she just tied a worm around her leg and they stayed up all day. Still laugh at that one !

LOL grannyG.. can you imagine going fishing with stockings on??? good story!!
my son and his friends collect nightcrawlers for fishing, they just put them in my garden to store them.. you could stick a shovel anywhere in my garden and find worms.. they must have been really bored one night because the gathered up a half a 5 gallon bucket of worms

you can get hair clippings from barber shops. Hair is high in nitrogen. You can get utility company come and dump threir trimmings instead of having them go to the land fill. Sawdust is great under blueberry bushes. and all flower beds. Of course fall leaves that are bagged up are an incredible source of wonderful mulch and soil amendments. debbie n missouri
