Well, Last year I attempted Rosemary and Catnip but nothing come up so I am going to try again this year.
Any trick with Catnip? I followed package directions and never saw one plant!
I was concidering Valerian last year, never ordered the seeds. Good question though.. Might give it a go again.

Thanks X, I will check it out. What does Pineapple mint taste like??
J, you may have heard of Valerian root. Used as an aid in sleeping. Known for it's calming effect.

Valerian is very useful. Its one of the herbs I can recommend to patients with no fear of interaction to their pharmacy meds. It is good for insomnia. It does have a side effect of nasty burps.
Catnip is one of my worst weeds around here. If ya get it started don't let it get out of hand or you'll be sorry.
How do you grow stevia? That is an interesting plant.

I have several well established Valarian plants , they do well here in this climate. I did start them from seed. The stevia...well the seeds are a little spendy, but they do well, the thing is; however, the germination is poor, so plant all you get, and you will get about 40% of them. I have yet to get the seeds to fully develop here in Mn. Last season, they were blooming, had almost made seed, tried protecting them(they get about 4 foot high here) but the temps were reacching 20 degrees at night, dug up onr whole plant and brought it in to basement, under lights, it stayed pretty much the same, they started to die...no seeds, I have had up to 15 plants before, but at the time, I had little exp. with them, We should be getting our stevia seed soon, and this year I will get a earlier start, also, start one in a planter that can be easily brought in,,,if they get close next fall. 2head

Is it the same as a Nurse Practioner? Let me ask you this then since you are in medical and herbs. What treats children for worms?

very close to the same thing as a nurse practitioner. I work with a nurse practitioner and I would say that our job descriptions are identical. Though I do recommend herbs for some conditions I am careful to see that there has been some type of credible research regarding the things I recommend. Europeans, in particular the Germans, are way ahead of us with herbal medicine. There is a book called The German E Commission Manuals that outlines their research and recommendations. Now to the specific question about children with worms, first it is important to know what type of worms since there are different treatments for different parasites. There is no rcommendation form the German E commission on parasites. According to The Way of Herbs, garlic, rue, chapparal, echinacea, wood betony. Of that group I'd say that echinacea is safe and easy to use (and of course garlic) but I recommend an ova and parasite test (stool) to know what you are dealing with.
