It's pretty tasty if you catch it at the right stage. Like any mushroom, you don't want to let it go too long.

Its not quite Bluht's, but yea Somebody who routinely eat corn smut would have to show me how its done before this unatractive shroom on corn will go into my diet.

When you see an ear getting really fat in the middle, you know you've got the fungus. You might have to tear into more than one to see the various stages. If the inside is black and powdery- you waited waaay too long. Get it while it's young and firm, like most mushrooms. Slice and fry with yer favorite seasoning.
