Wed. evening we lost our "Little Jack", which if you saw any of my pics you know was our house dog----OUR BABY! He was so special to us and such a huge part of our lives. He was spoiled rotten. But I still feel guilty. That we did not protect him from death. He was not even 2 yrs old. He went everywhere we went. If Jack couldn't go, we didn't go. town is an hr away and we took him every time, and we left the truck or car (whichever we drove) running, air cond. on high and locked it . We packed a travel bowl, and water, toys, his harness and leash(in what we called his bag). We bought him burger or roast beef, which was his fave. We went 4 wheeling a couple wks ago with some friends, he couldnt' go but when we got home we took him for a ride. We have had to leave him home and then come home and give him a ride. But we did let him out when he wanted out. usually, he'd stay on the porch and play with the cats or bath our other dog. My neice has a girl dog that was in heat and he'd go up there in the nt. which we didn't like but he'd go up the hill, not the rd and be back in 30 min or less. But Wed. Darrell let him out around 3:30 and I kept asking about him, around 5 he went to look for him and found him in Mom's driveway. As best we could tell he'd been hit by a car and tried to make it back up her hill to come down here. We are all devestated. He was so precious to us. Dustin blames Darrell. He wouldn't look at him or have anything to do with the burial except pick the place. Close to his room. Which was slate rock, my backs been out for 3 wks and Darrell's is out everyday since his accident but we dug about half of it yest. We put Jack in the camper and turned the air as low as it would go, Darrell' Daddy made him a wooden box. Then today our brother-in-law came and helped finish digging the grave.Dustin left. But he did tell me what he wanted put in with him and what to keep. Pray for us all but esp. Dustin. My Daddy died in 2003 and he still will not talk about him. He holds it all in. Thanks

thanks Spuds, CF and Laura. We are still struggling with our loss. We went to town today for the first time. My lap was so empty. And no trip to Arby's to get him a roast beef sandwich. Then we went to Darrell's Mom and Dad's. He LOVED it over there. When we started out the driveway, he'd start whining and wiggle all over. Their dogs were all over the car hunting for him. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers

Rescue a dog from the pound. That'll help a lot that you can save a poor dogs life now that really needs you,and that you need too.
Its a win win.
We love our rescued Girl, she is so sweet I cant believe it,just so dang NICE to everyone, plant and animal even.
But can bark like a good guard dog does too.

We ordered "Little Jack"'s grave stone. I am waiting for the email to show me what it will look like. It has helped me to feel better that we have done that. But I still feel guilty and so lost.
