People I have known this girl since she was about 12 and was shocked to read this today..
Chantel Coughlin
I went in for my first interview with a woman named Isabella. Her husband is actually in the same battalion as mine. During my interview I felt uncomfortable with a couple things she said to me. The first was, "When you're trying to get cus...tomers to apply for charge cards and it's a man, you can flirt with him. It's okay to do that as long as you keep it professional, doesn't matter that we're married." that didn't sit well with me.. it was really unprofessional. The second thing she did was actually drop names of other associates who made their sales goals.. I understand that I don't know these people, but she should be saying "so-and-so" not their actual name. Then at the end of the interview she asked if I had any questions, and I asked her how soon I would hear back. She told me it could be the same week, or could take 7wks. but not to call and ask because I would be told that she didn't know even if she did know.
So, about a week later I get called in for a second interview this time with a woman named Marla. She's asking me all the standard interview questions then asks me if I would have any availability restrictions. I told her none at all except when my husband comes home for R&R, and that it's looking like he may be home for Thanksgiving. She said that because it's his R&R it shouldn't be a problem. Then she sent me into Isabella's office to start the hiring process with payroll and all that crap. I didn't mention it to Isabella cause Marla said it was fine and for all I know Marla is supervisor to Isabella.
So I go in, do all the online training.. then one day last week, Isabella comes to me to make my schedule for this week and asks me about availability, so I told her what I told Marla. She asks me when he is coming home for R&R and I told her it's looking like thanksgiving but it's not set in stone. She tells me that everyone on payroll is required to work on Black Friday and that if I'm not going to show up that they can't keep me on. I told her that the dates weren't set and could change and that I would talk to my husband and see what was going on.
So yesterday I was working and had about an hour left of my shift and I get called into Isabella's office. She tells me that her and another manager talked things over and that it's happened before and they know it will happen again and that they will have to let me go because they think I will call out on Black Friday cause my husband will be home. She then tells me it wasn't a good idea to be looking for work before his R&R because of this (which is none of her goddamn business.) but that we are on good terms and I can reapply in 60 days if I'm still interested in working for the company.
So I'm going to write to the CEO of the company, and the FRG and see if I can stir up some trouble lol. Sorry this ended up being a short novel :-p
