This bird hung around my fence all day and let us get really close. I finally noticed that on the other side of the fence was another bird which wasn't moving. Evidently his partner broke her neck when she flew into the fence. He stayed there for hours pulling on her and rolling her around.

The bird was dead. I think she broke her neck because she looked perfectly fine. It appeared that it had just happened. A nest had already been started in the bluebird house. I haven't been back out to see if it's been continued so I don't know if it was their nest.

PS I'm calling this one "he" and the dead one "she". In all probability it's the other way around because I think a "she" would have had more sense than to fly into a fence and break her neck. ;D
