So, my buddy and his nephews came over the other day to move some stuff out of my garage that he'd been storing. One of his nephews puts his nose to the wind and says.... "somethin' smells like Fruit Loops." I smiled and pointed him over to the vines growing up & over our privacy fence and told him to go take a wiff. Sure enough... apparently our honeysuckle smells like Fruit Loops. Love that smell. As a side note... I lived in Battle Creek MI (cereal city) for a time. Kelloggs and Post both have factories there. You'd wake up in the morning, and no lie... the air almost always smelled like Sugar Smacks or Fruit Loops. mmmmmm........... sugary goodness.....

I love the smell of honeysuckle We go to Northfield, Mn. every once in awhile, just about 22 miles away... Laura's favorite thing is to catch a whiff of the Malt O Meal plant...it does smell like breakfast

Gidday
Sure is beautiful stuff but unfortately down here it grows so rampant that it is considered a noxious weed in most places.

It is considered a noxious weed here also ,but we dig up the lil ones and give them away, I like it because you can trim it back as far as you want and it still flowers and does so good. The other flower we had (Name escapes me) Hubbs used to trim it back all the time, twice a year if not more , it never did flower, I told him to give it a break from trimming but he just kept trimming and it never flowered... But the honeysuckle really is wonderful for someone who loves to trim all the time
