 I would to live in a place like that, overlooking a lake, with about 5 acres of land. No need for heat or air conditioning, and no mortgage.

Yep it is way cool...but as someone had commented...NOT IN THE U.S.A.
State, County zoning laws and building codes would keep this a dream

A LARGE loophole in the zoning in the rural counties in Tennessee is that they don't inspect barns, shed or ANY building used for agricultural purposes  That's in 2 counties I have lived in, you would still have to check that some other law doesn't allow them to inspect for another reason. Just a hint, ya know. ;D |

True and I can't see any way you would be able to do anything like that here .. Laws are way to strict .. But it would be a fun project for the boys |

Fabulous house but I don't know how they got planning permission or passed the building regulations. In the UK (where this is) you practically have to sell your soul for any kind of unusual build.  |
