50 years ago John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. Where did half a century go to? I was a curious 9 year old boy full of awe at the wondrous mysteries of space, and the possibilities of exploration.  Today I'm a cynical nearly 60 year old wondering why the "powers that be" want to give up on all that and disband NASA?  ?  |
