RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - The Fort Boonesborough Foundation will offer tours this summer that retrace the steps of explorer Daniel Boone. A day trip on Aug. 21 will begin at Fort Boonesborough State Park in Richmond and travel to Levi Jackson State Park in London. The bus tour retraces the back roads that Boone took to get to the fort and includes lunch and a presentation by Scott New, who portrays Boone. Two-day tours that include overnight lodging at Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Pineville are being offered July 10-11 and Sept. 26-27. Those tours will retrace Boone's steps starting from Cumberland Gap National Historical Park along the Kentucky-Tennessee-Virginia border. The Boonesborough Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports Fort Boonesborough State Park. More information about the tours is available at www.fortboonesboroughfoundation.org . www.wkyt.com/wymt/home/headlines/Tours_to_retrace_journey_of_Daniel_Boone_155842415.html
