Folks on alert after two mountain lion sightings Folks in one Kentucky community were put on alert Friday night after two possible mountain lion sightings. Two people, from two different Ashland neighborhoods, claimed they spotted a mountain lion or cougar. Ashland police put out a citywide mountain lion alert. A wildlife expert says that, while it's not common, it wouldn't be impossible for a mountain lion to venture into town. "Todd Kelley:don't approach them, don't try and make them your friend. Call 911 and we will come out with animal control," said Major Todd Kelley of Ashland police. Folks say they're taking extra steps to keep children and pets inside until the alert is over. www.wkyt.com/home/headlines/Folks_on_alert_after_two_mountain_lion_sightings_160924675.html

Here in East Texas I have never seen one. But a friend of mine kept saying he was seeing one ever so often. Parks and wild life people say no way is there mountain lion in this area. They are not any here. So he ups and shoots this lion, loads it in his truck and hauls it to town. wildlife people say must be somebody's pet. Anyway they were wrong. Now when I was in California and Nevada I saw several. Lots over where Spuds lives. CF
